CIS-1,2-DIHYDROCATECHOL, also known as cis-pyrocatechol or 1,2-dihydroxybenzene, is a chemical compound with the molecular formula C6H6O2. It is a colorless, crystalline solid with a faint, pleasant odor, and is soluble in water and ethanol. It is commonly used in organic synthesis, as an intermediate in the production of pharmaceuticals, dyes, and other organic compounds. It is also used as a stabilizer in the production of polymers and a precursor for the synthesis of fragrances and flavors.
