20590-53-8 Usage

General Description

1,2-O-ISOPROPYLIDENE-5-O-TRIPHENYLMETHYL-ALPHA-D-XYLOFURANOSIDE is a complex chemical compound with a complicated name. It is an isopropylidene derivative of alpha-D-xylofuranose, a type of sugar molecule. The presence of triphenylmethyl group in the compound makes it relatively stable and inert, and it is commonly used as a protecting group for the hydroxyl group in organic synthesis. 1,2-O-ISOPROPYLIDENE-5-O-TRIPHENYLMETHYL-ALPHA-D-XYLOFURANOSIDE has potential applications in pharmaceuticals and biotechnology as a building block for more complex molecules due to its unique structure and reactivity. Additionally, it could also find use as a chiral building block in the synthesis of various stereochemically pure compounds.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 20590-53-8 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 2,0,5,9 and 0 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 5 and 3 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 20590-53:
(7*2)+(6*0)+(5*5)+(4*9)+(3*0)+(2*5)+(1*3)=88
88 % 10 = 8
So 20590-53-8 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Karrikins from plant smoke modulate bacterial quorum sensing

Mandabi, Aviad,Ganin, Hadas,Krief, Pnina,Rayo, Josep,Meijler, Michael M.

, p. 5322 - 5325 (2014)

The discovery that plant smoke contains germination stimuli has led to the identification of a new class of signaling molecules named karrikins. Here we report a potential second role for these molecules: in various bacterial species-A. tumefaciens, P. aeruginosa and V. harveyi-they modulate bacterial quorum-sensing (QS), with very different outcomes. the Partner Organisations 2014.

Visible-Light-Mediated, Chemo- and Stereoselective Radical Process for the Synthesis of C-Glycoamino Acids

Ji, Peng,Zhang, Yueteng,Wei, Yongyi,Huang, He,Hu, Wenbo,Mariano, Patrick A.,Wang, Wei

supporting information, p. 3086 - 3092 (2019/05/01)

An approach for efficient synthesis of C-glycosyl amino acids is described. Different from typical photoredox-catalyzed reactions of imines, the new process follows a pathway in which α-imino esters serve as electrophiles in chemoselective addition reactions with nucleophilic glycosyl radicals. The process is highlighted by the mild nature of the reaction conditions, the highly stereoselectivity attending C-C bond formation, and its applicability to C-glycosylations using both armed and disarmed pentose and hexose derivatives.
