Carbocyclic Substrate Analogues Reveal Kanosamine Biosynthesis Begins with the α-Anomer of Glucose 6-Phosphate
Vetter, Natasha D.,Jagdhane, Rajendra C.,Richter, Brett J.,Palmer, David R. J.
, p. 2205 - 2211 (2020/09/01)
NtdC is an NAD-dependent dehydrogenase that catalyzes the conversion of glucose 6-phosphate (G6P) to 3-oxo-glucose 6-phosphate (3oG6P), the first step in kanosamine biosynthesis in Bacillus subtilis and other closely-related bacteria. The NtdC-catalyzed r
Synthesis and preliminary biological evaluation of carba analogues from Neisseria meningitidis A capsular polysaccharide
Gao, Qi,Zaccaria, Cristina,Tontini, Marta,Poletti, Laura,Costantino, Paolo,Lay, Luigi
supporting information; experimental part, p. 6673 - 6681 (2012/09/22)
The Gram-negative encapsulated bacterium Neisseria meningitidis type A (MenA) is a major cause of meningitis in developing countries, especially in the sub-Saharan region of Africa. The development and manufacture of an efficient glycoconjugate vaccine ag
The synthesis of a new class of potential inhibitors for glycoside hydrolases
Stick, Robert V.,Stubbs, Keith A.
, p. 529 - 547 (2007/10/03)
Some attempts toward the synthesis of novel inhibitors of glycosyl transferases are described. More successfully, the synthesis of an activated cyclopropacyclohexene and an amide and an amine of a cyclopropa-fused pyranose are described. None of these three novel compounds proved to be a significant inhibitor of a retaining α-glucosidase from barley. Copyright Taylor & Francis, Inc.
Carbohydrates to carbocycles: An expedient synthesis of pseudo-sugars
Sudha,Nagarajan
, p. 925 - 926 (2007/10/03)
A short and versatile synthesis of pseudo-sugars from sugars utilizing the Claisen rearrangement as the key step is described.
