Tri-liquid system in the synthesis of dialkyl peroxides using tetraalkylammonium salts as phase-transfer catalysts
Baj, Stefan,Siewniak, Agnieszka
, p. 208 - 213 (2010)
A highly effective method to synthesise dialkyl peroxides from alkyl hydroperoxides and alkyl bromides in a liquid-liquid-liquid system using tetraalkylammonium salts as phase-transfer catalysts is reported. This process was conducted in the presence of h
Ultrasound-assisted green synthesis of dialkyl peroxides under phase-transfer catalysis conditions
Kope?, Daniel,Baj, Stefan,Siewniak, Agnieszka
, (2020/01/13)
The dialkyl peroxides, which contain a thermally unstable oxygen-oxygen bond, are an important source of radical initiators and cross-linking agents. New efficient and green methods for their synthesis are still being sought. Herein, ultrasound-assisted s
The selective functionalization of saturated hydrocarbons. Part 40. Aspects of Fe(II) based peroxide fragmentation in pyridine solution
Barton, Derek H. R.,Launay, Franck
, p. 14565 - 14578 (2007/10/03)
The Haber-Weiss mechanism does not apply to the Fe(II) induced fragmentation of primary and secondary hydroperoxides in pyridine. However, it does apply to tertiary hydroperoxides. Steric bulk is an important factor in Fe(II) induced dialkyl peroxide decomposition in pyridine. On the contrary in tetrahydrofuran a different relatively unhindered electron transfer process predominates where the Fe(II) becomes a catalyst.
