Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 33602-15-2 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 3,3,6,0 and 2 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 1 and 5 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 33602-15:
(7*3)+(6*3)+(5*6)+(4*0)+(3*2)+(2*1)+(1*5)=82
82 % 10 = 2
So 33602-15-2 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

A remarkably efficient Markovnikov hydrochlorination of olefins and transformation of nitriles into imidates by use of AcCl and an alcohol

Yadav, Veejendra K.,Babu, K. Ganesh

, p. 452 - 456 (2005)

HCl generated by mixing AcCl with EtOH brings about Markovnikov hydrochlorination of olefins in excellent yields. The products are isolated in states of high purity simply by removal of the volatile components under reduced pressure. Further, nitriles are transformed into imidate hydrochlorides on similar treatment with AcCl and an alcohol. This procedure for nitrile-imidate transformation is much more efficient than that used previously, which involved continuous passing of HCl gas into the solution of a nitrile in a solvent such as Et2O or benzene and an alcohol until one equivalent had been absorbed. PRENYLATION OF CAMPHENE - A CARBOCATIONIC ROUTE TO ISOSANTALENE AND ITS DERIVATIVES

Rahman, Azizur,Baeuml, Englbert,Klein, Herbert,Mayr, Herbert

, p. 4119 - 4124 (2007/10/02)

Camphene 1 is converted into 8-chloromethylcamphene 3 via Prins reaction.Treatment of 3 with zinc chloride/ether in the presence of isobutene gives the 1:1 adduct 11, from which isosantalene 7, its isomer 6, and the corresponding alcohol 5 are obtained.
