Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 34304-79-5 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 3,4,3,0 and 4 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 7 and 9 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 34304-79:
(7*3)+(6*4)+(5*3)+(4*0)+(3*4)+(2*7)+(1*9)=95
95 % 10 = 5
So 34304-79-5 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Ethylbenzene oxidation in the presence of acetic anhydride

Nosacheva,Revkov,Perkel

, p. 443 - 447 (2008/02/02)

The kinetics of formation and subsequent transformation of the products of ethylbenzene oxidation in the presence of acetic anhydride at 100°C was studied by solution of the inverse kinetic problem.

Chemiluminescence of secondary peroxyesters

Dixon, Brian G.,Schuster, Gary B.

, p. 3068 - 3077 (2007/10/02)

The thermolysis of 1-phenylethyl peroxyacetate and a series of substituted 1-phenylethyl peroxybenzoates was investigated. Thermolysis in benzene gives acetophenone and the corresponding carboxylic acid. The study of the reaction kinetics and kinetic isotope effect indicates that the unimolecular thermolysis proceeds by homolysis of the oxygen-oxygen bond. Electronically excited states are formed in the thermolyses of these peroxyesters. These are detected by their characteristic direct chemiluminescence or by indirect chemiluminescence. In the presence of easily oxidized catalysts these peroxyesters give excited states by the chemically initiated electron-exchange luminescence (CIEEL) path. The mechanism of these luminescent reactions was investigated.
