A quick, efficient, one-pot synthesis of carbazates was accomplished in high yields by the reaction of various tosylates of primary, secondary, and tert alcohols, with a variety of substituted hydrazines using the benzyltrimethylammonium hydroxide (Triton-B)/CO2 system.
