Hydrogen bond directed aerobic oxidation of amines via photoredox catalysis
Wang, Hongyu,Man, Yunquan,Wang, Kaiye,Wan, Xiuyan,Tong, Lili,Li, Na,Tang, Bo
supporting information, p. 10989 - 10992 (2018/10/08)
An application of H-bonding interactions for directing the α-C-H oxidation of amines to amides and amino-ketones catalyzed by an organic photocatalyst is reported. The high efficiency of this method is demonstrated by the aerobic oxidation of pyrrolidines, diarylamines and benzylamines bearing urea groups with high yields and a wide substrate scope.
A Simple Chiral Cu(II) Complex as an Effective Phase-Transfer Catalyst for the Enantioselective Alkylation of Dissymmetric Glycinate Ketimines

, p. 944 - 950 (2015/11/16)
Catalytic asymmetric benzylation of a dissymmetric tert-butylglycinate ketimine, incorporating 1-naphthyl and phenyl groups as the Schiff base substituents, under phase-transfer conditions was investigated. It was interesting to note that the sense of asymmetric induction of the alkylation of Z-imine stereoisomer is opposite to that of the corresponding E stereoisomer with a similar degree of enantioselectivity. More interestingly, the chiral Cu(II) complex of the Schiff base derived from (R)-2-phenylglycinol and 2-hydroxy-1-naphthaldehyde was found to catalyze the same reaction under solid-liquid conditions with comparable enantioselectivity (up to 60% ee) with respect to known cinchona alkaloid catalysts. The solvent/base-system parameter was shown to control the optimal catalytic activity. Chirality 27:944-950, 2015.
Synthesis, separation and structure determination of atropisomeric ketimines: precursors of new potential chiral ligands and phase-transfer catalysts

, p. 1523 - 1531 (2008/12/21)
Sterically crowded chiral biaryl ketimines have been prepared via nucleophilic addition onto a substituted benzonitrile or 8-cyanoquinoline and subsequent treatment of the resulting methylenimines either with methyl iodide, or with a chiral primary amine. Atropisomerism due to the hindered rotation of the aryl groups about the C-C bond adjacent to C{double bond, long}N has been evidenced in all cases. Physical separation and full characterisation (NMR and X-ray analysis) of atropisomeric imines have been accomplished.
Synthesis and characterization of new ca-disubstituted (diarylaminomethyl)phosphonates
Cristau, Henri-Jean,Lambert, Jean-Marc,Pirat, Jean-Luc
, p. 1167 - 1170 (2007/10/03)
A convenient and efficient three-step procedure for the preparation of W-protected or unprotected C-disubstituted (di-arylaminomethyOphosphonates 1 is reported. This method allows diversification of the substituents on the carbon in the a-position to the phosphorus, as well as the protective group on the amine and the phosphonate ester group.
Synthesis of potential inhibitors of squalenepoxidase with conformationanl fixation of the structural elements of Butenafine
Stanetty,Wallner
, p. 341 - 350 (2007/10/02)
The synthesis of the naphthalinemethanamines 6b-h is reported. To obtain products with conformative rigidity, substituents with gradually increased space demand were placed into the α-position. Since the direct reductive amination of the naphthylalkanones 3 with the amines 9 or 10 was only of very limited use the α-substituted naphthalinmethanamines 2 and 4 were synthesized as useful intermediates by various methods and the desired N-substitution pattern of the target compounds was subsequently built up applying - mostly reductive - alkylation methods.
2-Azaallenium Salts from N-Benzylidene-α-methoxybenzylamines
Weidner, Reinhold,Wuerthwein, Ernst-Ulrich
, p. 1095 - 1106 (2007/10/02)
New phenyl-substituted 2-azaallenium salts 1 with variable substitution pattern were synthesized in high yields and under mild reaction conditions by treatment of N-benzylidene-α-methoxy-benzylamines 4 with acylium salts. The amines 4 are easily accessible from imines 2 and α-chloro ethers 3 or from 2,4-diaza-1,4-pentadiones 7; only in the case of strong steric hindrance an alternate reaction (forming imidazole 6) takes place. Some of the new 2-azaallenium salts (1ea-1ed, 1fa-1fd) show high tendency for intramolecular cyclisation reactions leading to isoquinoline derivatives 8 and 9. - The structures of the salts 1 in solution were analysed on the basis of 1H- and 13C-NMR spectra with respect to the dynamic behaviour of the cations. For 1aa-1j cumulene structures were derived, for the intensively coloured 1k, however, a 2-azaallyl cation structure of the aza-trimethine dyestuff type was found (IR data). - Keywords: 2-Azaallenium Salts; N-Benzylidene-α-methoxybenzylamines
