Reactivity Profile
1,8,9-TRIHYDROXYANTHRACENE is an alcohol. Flammable and/or toxic gases are generated by the combination of alcohols with alkali metals, nitrides, and strong reducing agents. They react with oxoacids and carboxylic acids to form esters plus water. Oxidizing agents convert them to aldehydes or ketones. Alcohols exhibit both weak acid and weak base behavior. They may initiate the polymerization of isocyanates and epoxides. 1,8,9-TRIHYDROXYANTHRACENE is incompatible with strong oxidizing agents. .
Fire Hazard
Flash point data for 1,8,9-TRIHYDROXYANTHRACENE are not available. 1,8,9-TRIHYDROXYANTHRACENE is probably combustible.

Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 480-22-8 includes 6 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 3 digits, 4,8 and 0 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 2 and 2 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 480-22:
(5*4)+(4*8)+(3*0)+(2*2)+(1*2)=58
58 % 10 = 8
So 480-22-8 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
