POLYMERIZABLE COMPOUND AND OPTICALLY ANISOTROPIC BODY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymerizable compound which has high storage stability and can form a film-like polymer while being difficult to cause alignment defects, where the film-like polymer is less likely to be separated from a substrate even when irradiated with ultraviolet for a long time. SOLUTION: The invention provides a compound represented by general formula (I), and a polymer thereof. A composition comprising the compound is useful as a polymerizable liquid crystal composition. Macrocyclic ethers by free radical cyclizations

Tin hydride reduction of ω-iodo-polyoxaalkyl acrylates 1 using syringe pump addition of both reactants to a solution of AIBN in benzene at 80°C afforded the corresponding cyclic polyethers in excellent yields.
