DOCUMENT TYPE: Patent CA Section: 42 (Coatings, Inks, and Related Products) Long-lasting marking paints, e.g. for tennis courts or playing fields, are prepd. by mixing white, inorg. powders with melamine [108-78-1] binders. Thus, a mixt. of gypsum 60, CaCO3 25, melamine 6, kaolinite 6, and Ca(OH)2 3% was used to mark a soccer field with lines 5 cm wide and 8 mm high, which were still visible after 1 mo use. .

Kuo Li T'ai-wan Ta Hsueh Nung Hsueh Yuan Yen Chiu Pao Kao, 22(2), 92-106 (English) 1982. CODEN: KTNYA8. ISSN: 0077-5819. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 19 (Fertilizers, Soils, and Plant Nutrition) Incubation studies were made to det. the feasibility of prepg. and using a combination fertilizer contg. urea and slowly available N compds. in a basal application for wetland rice with a view to prolong the fertilizer N supply and increase its efficiency of utilization. Dicyandiamide (DCD) [461-58-5] and guanylurea sulfate (GUS) [591-01-5] were easily hydrolyzable and had no slowly available N fertilizer characteristics in submerged soil. The fertilizer N in the soil column was subjected to 4 simultaneous reactions: hydrolysis, immobilization, mineralization, and N loss through NH3 volatilization and denitrification. These reactions were apparently observable from the overall reaction kinetics expressed as the percentage of extractable ammonium-N. As the diffusion rate and immobilization rate increase with the increase of N concn., urea, DCD, GUS, which were quickly hydrolyzed, were prone to N loss through immobilization and volatilization processes. Oxamide [471-46-5] and melamine [108-78-1] hydrolyzed slowly; the immobilization and volatilization processes were also depressed. Owing to the very slowly releasing characteristics of oxamide and melamine, the combination fertilizers with higher urea/oxamide or urea/melamine ratios will fit the N requirement of rice plant better than those with DCD and GUS will. Draining water after 5 wk of incubation enhanced the N loss through NH3 voltilization and denitrification. .
