Following is one of the synthesis routes: 
2-(3,4-Dimethoxyphenyl)-3-methylbutyronitrile (I) is condensed with N-(3-chloropropyl)-N-[2-(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)ethyl]-N-methylamine (II) in the presence of sodium amide in refluxing toluene to afford the target aminonitrile.
