Acitazanolast (CAS NO.: 114607-46-4), with other name of 3'-(1H-Tetrazol-5-yl)oxanilic acid, could be produced through many synthetic methods.

Following are some of the synthesis routes:
1) 3-(1H-tetrazol-5-yl)aniline (I) is condensed with oxalyl chloride (II) in dimethoxyethane to afford Acitazanolast.
2) By condensation of the aniline (I) with ethyl oxalyl chloride (III) by means of triethylamine in DMF to the corresponding ethyl ester (IV), which is then hydrolyzed with base (KOH or NaOH) in ethanol.
