Poison by intravenous, intraperitoneal, and subcutaneous routes. Moderately toxic by ingestion. Human systemic effects by intravenous route: increased pulse rate and blood pressure. When heated to decomposition it emits very toxic fumes of NOx and SOx. See also EPHEDRINE.
