The absolute configurations of four previously isolated clerodane diterpenoids, montanin C, 12-epiteupolin II, teugnaphalodin and tebutilin B, have been established by chemical correlation with some derivatives of 19-acetylgnaphalin, a neo-clerodane whose absolute stereochemistry is known.The above four compounds also belong to the neo-clerodane series.
