0.02 mmol) was added at once and after that to the resulting solu-
tion t-butylhydroperoxide (0.36 mL, 5.5 M in decane, 2.0 mmol)
was added dropwise. Reaction mixture was stirred at rt during
the time indicated in Table 6. After that to the reaction mixture
water (20 mL) and dichloromethane (10 mL) were added. The pH
was adjusted to seven with solid NaHCO3, organic extract was sep-
arated and water layer was additionally extracted with dichloro-
methane (2Â 10 mL). Combined organic extracts were dried over
anhydrous Na2SO4, filtered and evaporated. The crude product
was purified by column chromatography on silica gel (CH2Cl2/
EtOAc, 9:1) to yield the product of purity >98%. The identities of
products were confirmed by mp, IR, 1H, and 13C NMR spectral data.
