The additions of the lithium dienolate anion derived from ethyl 2-bromocrotonate to several ketones, aldehydes, and enones were investigated.The products were analyzed in terms of yields, regioselectivity, and stereoselectivity of this reaction.The potential for cyclopentene annulation is indicated.
