The reaction of Ph4Ge2Cl2 with t-Bu2Ge(OH)2 leads to the novel organogermanium oxygen compound Ph4-t-Bu2Ge3O2.The germanium and oxygen atoms form an almost planar five-membered ring with a germanium-germanium bond.
