The entitled alcohols are smoothly converted to αδ-diethylenic ketones by treatment with one molar equivalent of silver trifluorosulfonate in THF-H2O at 20 to 60 deg C.The yield of the transposition is excellent but a loss of unstable ketones is observed during the purification.
