Bis(diphenylphosphino)acetylene (DPPA) reacts with THF complexes of Cp(CO)2Mn and (CO)5M (M=Cr, W) to yield binuclear diphosphine-bridged complexes of type 2DPPA and <(CO)5M>2DPPA.A mononuclear complex Cp(CO)2MnDPPA can be isolated when a 1/1 molar ratio of the reactants is used.The preparation and characterisation of Cp(CO)2MnDPPA, 2DPPA, <(CO)5Cr>2DPPA and <(CO)5W>2DPPA are reported, as is the crystal structure of 2DPPA determined by X-ray diffraction.
