ortho-Funtionalized styryl ethers are obtained in high yields by palladium-catalyzed cross coupling between (1-ethoxy-1-alken-2-yl)boranes and aryl halides.These styryl ethers are converted to benzo-fused heteroaromatic compounds by cyclodehydration.
