Direct or benzil-sensitized trans-cis photoisomerisation of 2,4,6-triisopropyl-3'-(phenylazo)azobenzene is unselective, in contrast to the regioselective photoisomerisation of 2,4,6-triisopropyl-3'-styrylstilbene.
