Allylcobalt(III)-tetraphenylporphyrine (1) undergoes auto-oxidation to the peroxy complex (2) at room temperature even in complete darkness.The first X-ray diffraction study of a cobalt-peroxy complex revealed remarkable features.Low temperature NMR investigations confirm that pyridine is coordinated as a sixth ligand at cobalt not only in the solid state but also in solution.
