found to be healthy, capable of proliferation, forming a good
coverage on the material and attached very well to the surface.
Overall these results show that these choline based salts, in
particular those based on the levulinate and tartarate anions, can
be useful for biomedical implant applications. Studies pertaining
to the mechanical properties of the salt crosslinked biomaterials
will be reported separately and the in vivo studies of the
biomaterial films for wound healing applications are underway.
