A convenient method for the conversion of α-tetralones to aryl acetates

A facile synthesis of aryl acetates from α-tetralones has been performed with isopropenyl acetate and p-toluenesulfonic acid, followed by dehydrogenation with air or DDQ, in a one-pot procedure.
