Enantiospecific synthesis of R- and S-5,6-dihydroxy-2-(N,N-di-n-propylamino)tetralins from serine

The first enantiospecific synthesis of 5,6-dihydroxy-2-(N,N-di-n-propylamino)tetralin [5,6-(HO)₂DPAT] is reported. Starting from D- or L-serine either enantiomer is readily available in high optical purity.
