Diels-Alder reactions of 1,1-disubstituted 3,4-dimethylenecyclopentanes. Preparation of indanes and diazaindanes

Compounds possessing indane and diazaindane skeletons are prepared by two routes: i) reaction of 1,2-bis(bromomethyl)benzenes with active methylene compounds and ii) Diels-Alder reaction of 1,1-disubstituted-3,4-dimethylenecyclopentanes.
