Condensation of 1-R-3-carbethoxy-4-hydroxy-2-quinolones with o-phenylene diamine gives the corresponding 1-R-3-(2-benzimidazolyl)-4-hydroxy-2-quinolones.Data on a study of the antihyroid activity of the synthesized compounds is presented.
