The tripodal aromatic triisocyanides HC(CH2CH2CH2O-2-C6H4NC)3 (5) and H3C-C(CH2O-2-C6H4NC)3 (6) react with (C7H8)W(CO)3 to give the chelate complexes fac-<(5)W(CO)3> (15) und fac-<(6)W(CO)3> (16). 15 was shown by NMR spectroscopy to be a 5:3 mixture of two isomers, in which the central methine group of the ligand adopts either the in- (15a) or the out-configuration (15b) respectively. The molecular structure of 16 in which 6 adopts the out-configuration exclusively, has been determined by X-ray structure analysis. Key words: Isocyanide; Tungsten; X-ray diffraction
