The first donor-stabilized [bis(silylene)]ruthenium compex, Cp(Ph₃P)Ru(SiMe₂ - O(Me) - SiMe₂), has been synthesized by the thermal reaction of CpRu(PPh₃)₂Me with HMe₂SiSiMe₂OMe. The X-ray crystal structure analysis of this complex revealed its distorted-piano-stool structure, containing a RuSi₂O four-membered chelate ring with two short Ru-Si bonds and two long Si-O bonds.
