The synthesis of the title compounds by basic elimination on the O-derivatives of unsubstituted and α-methylated β-hydroxy-γ,γ-dialkoxysulfoxides is reported. The study of the stereoselectivity of DIBAL and DIBAL/ZnI₂ reductions of the starting β-ketosulfoxides and their α-methylated derivatives is also presented.
