A new regioselective method of synthesizing functionally substituted pyrido<2,3-d>uracils from 2,N-dicyanoacetamidine is proposed. 3-Cyanopyridinecyanoimidines and 4-amino-2-bromopyrido<2,3-d>pyrimidine hydrobromides were obtained as intermediate compounds.The structures of the compounds obtained were established by data of elemental analysis, NMR, IR, and mass spestra.
