The bis(cyclopalladated) tetranuclear compound [{Pd[η5-C5H5)Fe(η5-C 5H3)CMe=N]Cl(PPh3)}2] has been prepared and characterized. Proton and 31P NMR spectra reveal the presence of four diastereomers in solution. The crystal structure of the meso form has been determined by X-ray crystallography. This confirms the existence of two five-membered palladacycles with a σ(Pd-Csp2,ferrocene) bond. Electrochemical studies, based on cyclic voltammetry, and Moessbauer spectra are also reported.
