The optical isomers of sodium 2-[[4-(3-methoxypropoxy)-3-methylpyridin- 2-yl]methylsulfinyl]-1H-benzimidazole (E3810), a proton pump inhibitor, were separated by HPLC and their absolute configurations were determined by X-ray crystallographic analysis.
