The 4,5-dihydroisoxazole-5-acetic acids 4a-j were prepared from the ketoximes la-j, 2,2-dimethyl-5-methoxymethylene-l,3-dioxan-4,6-dione (2) and butyllithium in yields from 35 to 79 %.
