The chloroborane, C1B(C6F5)2, has been investigated as a useful synthon for the preparation of a series of amino(pentafluorophenyl)boranes. The compounds [(Me3Si)2NB(C6F5)2], 1, [(Me3Si)(H)NB(C6F5)2], 2, and [HN{B(C6F5)2}2], 3, have been synthesised and 1 has been characterised by X-ray crystallography.
