The chloroborane, C1B(C₆F₅)₂, has been investigated as a useful synthon for the preparation of a series of amino(pentafluorophenyl)boranes. The compounds [(Me₃Si)₂NB(C₆F₅)₂], 1, [(Me₃Si)(H)NB(C₆F₅)₂], 2, and [HN{B(C₆F₅)₂}₂], 3, have been synthesised and 1 has been characterised by X-ray crystallography.
