The complexes (Ph₃P)(R₃E) PtPPh₂(CH₂)_nSiR′₂ (n = 2: R′ = Me: ER₃ = SiPh₃, SiMePh₂, SnPh₃; R′ = Ph: ER₃ = SiPh₃, SiMePh₂; n= 1, R′ = Me, ER₃ = SiPh₃) are obtained by reaction of Ph₂P(CH₂)_nSiR′₂ER₃ with (Ph₃P)₂Pt(π-C₂H₄). The bis(silyl) complex (Ph₃P)(Ph₃Si) PtPPh₂CH₂SiMe₂ was characterized by an X-ray structure analysis, which showed the two silyl groups to be cis (Pt-Si 236.8(1) and 237.4(1) pm).
