Phosphoe sulfides as 6-electron η4-c4, η1-s chelating ligands

The reaction of 1-phenyl-3,4-dimethylphosphole sulfide with [M(CO)₃] sources (M=Cr, Mo) yields the corresponding η⁴-C₄, η¹-S-M(CO)₃ complexes. The X-ray crystal structure analysis of the Cr-complex reveals an original type of complexation of the P=S unit which lies half-way between a η¹-S and a η²-P=S bonding mode.
