An approach to the synthesis of amide libraries based upon an α-iminogalactofuranose template as potential inhibitors of mycobacterial cell wall biosynthesis is described. The synthesis of peptide analogues of uridine 5'-phosphogalactofuranose (UDP-Galf) is also described.
