The title compounds 6, 8 and 10, which are dihydroarene sulfides of the environmental pollutants triphenylene, benzo[b]fluorene and benzo[k]fluoranthene, have been synthesized from the corresponding epoxides and N,N-dimethylthioformamide. The mutagenicity
