The synthesis of a new class of nitroxide spin-labels is described. Tetrahydrooxazines, obtained from substituted αβ-unsaturated ketones, by Michael addition of ammonia, reduction into β-amino-alcohols and condensation with ketones, were oxidized to nitroxides. Mesityl oxyde and (+)-pulegone radical derivatives were studied.
