Heterocyclic replacements for the carboxamido group of the previously disclosed phenylglycinol-based human NK₁ (hNK₁) receptor antagonists have been investigated, ultimately leading to acyclic compounds with sub-nanomolar affinity for the hNK₁ receptor.
