3'4'5'6'-Tetrafluorobenzo-15-crown-5 (1) and 3',4',5',6'-tetrafluorobenzo-18-crown-6 (2) are readily prepared by reaction of hexafluorobenzene with tetra- and pentaethylene glycol, respectively, and show markedly reduced salt-extraction capability compared to hydrocarbon analogues.
