4,4-Dimethyl-2-phenyl-2-thiazolin-5-thione (4) reacts with 2,3-diphenylcyclopropenone (2a) at 145 deg C and with benzonitrilio-2-propanide (6) at room temperature to yield the 1,6-dithia-spiro<4.4>nonadienes 5 and 7, respectively.
