Synthesis of 3-fluoropyruvates from glycidic-α-cyanoesters

The decyanation of α-cyano-β-fluoro-α-hydroxyesters is achieved, at room temperature, by action of Ni(OAc)₂. The corresponding 3-fluoropyruvates are obtained in good yields.
