Among the various products formed by nucleophilic attack of hydrazine and hydroxylamine on oxo-2 furo<3,4b>γ-pyrone, the major ones were pyrazole and isoxazole derivatives.Their structures, established by 13C NMR spectra allowed us to propose a reaction mechanism.
