Synthesis, in a regio- and stereocontrolled way, of a linear D-manno-oligosaccharide, namely, O-α-Man-(1--3)-O-α-Man-(1--2)-O-α-Man-(1--2)-α-Man-(1--2)-α-Man, which corresponds to a part of the structure of the cell-surface D-mannan of Escherichia coli, C
