Photosensitized oxygenation of (benzylidenehydrazono)-, (diphenylmethylenehydrazono)-, (9-fluorenylidenehydrazono)-, (9-xanthenylidenehydrazono)-, and (10-methyl-9,10-dihydroacridin-9-ylidenehydrazono)triphenylphosphoranes at -78 deg C gave the corresponding carbonyl compounds and triphenylphosphine oxide and also gave light emission upon warming-up to room temperature.
