PREPARATION OF LEAD IODINE FILMS BY IODINATION OF CHEMICALLY DEPOSITED LEAD SULPHIDE FILMS.

A method of preparing lead iodide films is proposed which consists of two steps: (1) the preparation of PbS films of appropriate thickness by a solution growth technique, and (2) the iodination of PbS to produce PbI//2 films. It is shown that lead iodide films prepared by this technique have properties similar to those of vacuum evaporated films. This provides an alternative method of preparing lead iodide films without using vacuum techniques.
