2H-chromene

Under an argon atmosphere, to an oven-dried vial were subsequent-
ly added salicyl N-tosylimines 6a (55.1 mg, 0.2 mmol), nitrosty-
renes 1a (29.8 mg, 0.2 mmol), catalyst 5a (12.0 mg, 0.02 mmol),
and dry toluene (1.0 mL). The resulting mixture was allowed to stir
about 16 h, and the suspended solution was directly purified by
flash column chromatography on silica gel (n-hexane–
EtOAc = 10:1) to afford the products 3 as a yellow solid.

(m, 5 H), 7.36–7.38 (m, 2 H), 8.06 (s, 1 H). 13C NMR (100 MHz,
CDCl3): d = 74.3, 117.3, 117.9, 122.6, 127.0, 128.9, 129.3, 129.5,
130.5, 134.4, 136.8, 141.2, 153.6. HRMS: m/z calcd for C15H11NO3:
253.07334; found: 253.0730. The er was determined by HPLC
[Chiralpak IC column, hexane–i-PrOH (99:1), flow rate 0.7 mL/
min; tR (major) = 25.37 min; tR (minor) = 28.64].
